$PARIS, FRANCE-- A coalition of impacted communities gathered today at the Peace Wall in Paris, France, on Human Rights Day. Representatives from Indigenous, Black, Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander organizations attended the event and untied behind the message "It takes roots to weather the storm." The organizations represented communities impacted by environmental issues, such as fracking, mining, and oil extraction. The 'It Takes Roots' event took place during COP21 in Paris. <br /> <br /> On December 10, 2015, the COP21 is midway through in it's second week of negotiations at the United Nations Climate Change conference.
