  • PARIS, FRANCE-- On the last official day of negotiations at COP21, the Fossil of the Day Award was presented to Saudi Arabia. The award is presented with dishonor to the country that is responsible for wrecking the climate or getting in the way of the climate negotiations. It was announced that Saudi Arabia won the first place and the 'Colossal Fossil' award because the Saudi delegation is "standing against decarbonization to protect their dirty oil profits and are still trying to force a limit to global warming of 1.5 degrees out of the agreement - despite the raft of developing and developed countries backing the target."<br />
<br />
On December 11, 2015, the COP21 is at the end of it's second week of negotiations at the United Nations Climate Change conference. The COP21 is being held in Paris, France, at the Le Bourget conference center.<br />
