• PARIS, FRANCE-- On the last official day of negotiations at COP21, the Fossil of the Day Award was presented to Saudi Arabia. The award is presented with dishonor to the country that is responsible for wrecking the climate or getting in the way of the climate negotiations. It was announced that Saudi Arabia won the first place and the 'Colossal Fossil' award because the Saudi delegation is "standing against decarbonization to protect their dirty oil profits and are still trying to force a limit to global warming of 1.5 degrees out of the agreement - despite the raft of developing and developed countries backing the target."

On December 11, 2015, the COP21 is at the end of it's second week of negotiations at the United Nations Climate Change conference. The COP21 is being held in Paris, France, at the Le Bourget conference center.

Talks on a universal climate deal shifted to a higher gear on Monday 07, Dec, 2015 with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urging governments to set off an "energy revolution" to rein in carbon emissions and avert disastrous global warming. Ban Ki-moon further mentioned "We do not have planet B, so we need to keep the planet safe and clean."

His brief was supported by Christiana Figueres who noted that governments need to come to a final agreement and save the planet.

Moreover, Cop 21 President Laurent Fabius stated that the draft presented to him represents progress.
