Kibera, Nairobi - On Nov 22nd 2012: Kibera is the most studied slum in Africa. Only about 20% of Kibera has electricity. UN-Habitat is in the process of providing power to some parts of Kibera – this will include street lighting, security lighting and connection to the shanties (this costs Ksh 900 per shanty, which in most cases is not affordable).
