Biosand Filters and Brick tanks: A water solution in Gomba, Uganda

"We used to get sick so often. It was mostly diarrhea or typhoid and I would get sick at least once every term. When we were younger in classes between P1 to P4, it was awful because we used to fall sick even more often"

-- Nabadda Benitta

Student at Joy and Grace Primary School in Kabulasoke, Gomba. In Uganda, the school system is such that there are 7 levels in Primary school from P1 to P7. Most rural areas do not have pre-school facilities such as kindergarten and nursery schools and thus children will join P1 from the age of 5years.
